Two different Windermeres, two different roofs

The incorporated town is small: 3,030 residents at the 2020 census, 2.69 square miles of which three quarters of a square mile is water, sitting on the isthmus between Lake Down and Lake Butler. Most of the residential streets downtown are still unpaved dirt, and that is a practical factor rather than a charm point.
